Professional Development 

The AP Program offers a wide range of professional development options to ensure that teachers have access to the resources and training they need to update their curriculum. Options include subject-specific online workshops and events, as well as face-to-face AP Summer Institutes and AP workshops, facilitated by trained AP Consultants who demonstrate practical ways of implementing course revisions.

  • One-day, face-to-face workshops are available for AP Chemistry and AP Spanish Language and Culture. Participants will learn about the redesigned courses and exams and receive guidance and strategies to support student success.
  • One-day, face-to-face workshops are available for the current AP Physics B and AP U.S. History. Eighty percent of the sessions focus on the current courses; 20 percent focus on previewing the redesigned courses. Also available are one-day workshops that focus on critical aspects of the redesigned courses.

Resources

The AP Program will create and post online numerous curricular materials to help teachers transition to the redesigned course. There are course and exam descriptions that include a discussion of the AP Exam, a representative sampling of exam questions, and the curriculum framework; practice exams featuring a wide range of questions; lab manuals, and more.
